Where Ancestral Craft Meets Contemporary Architecture
About the Business
In 2017, Sarah Wanjiku Kamau and David Kipkorir Tanui observed that Nairobi’s luxury developments were dominated by imported catalog minimalism—sterile European veneers, cold synthetic tiles, and spaces detached from Kenyan geography.
They established Acacia & Ash Interiors with a singular mission: to author a distinct architectural vocabulary known as Contemporary Afro-Minimalism. Every space we design is an acoustic and tactile dialogue between Kenya’s ancient soils, generational timbers (Mvule, Camphor, Olive), Tabaka soapstone, hand-cast brass, and pure, contemplative architectural lines.
